Forged Anticlastic Copper Ring
Pure copper forged, textured and polished. We've forged this ring into an anticlastic comfort fit shape and given it a hammered texture. the ring is then polished inside and out.
This is a custom made to order item.
Please specify size when ordering and allow up to 1-2 weeks for completion.
My Process: Each ring is hand-cut from .999 pure copper sheet, soldered using silver solder, formed on a calibrated ring mandrel, forged, sanded, de-burred, rotary tumbled for strength, and meticulously hand finished, either polished to a mirror shine, or polished and then brushed on the outside for a satin look, while retaining the silky smooth bright polish on the inside of the ring band for a comfortable feel on the finger.
These rings are made in our home studio in Saint George, Utah by our family of artisans.
Coatings: We do not coat these with any kind of sealant or lacquer, so they will take on a dark patina over time. Polish as you would silver with a jeweler's polishing cloth or jewelry safe polishing compound.
Care instructions: Store copper and brass jewelry in a small zip-lock bag to limit exposure to moisture and air when not being worn. Polish with a jewelry polishing cloth as needed to maintain the bright finish.
Do not expose the metal to harsh chemicals such as ammonia, bleach and alcohol. Will it turn me green? The natural interaction between the salts and moisture in your skin and copper may cause the copper to oxidize and leave a surface coloration on your skin, the degree of which depends on your personal body chemistry and environment. This coloration washes off with soap and water.
